    Modou Ndiaye aka Mamadou Cissokho is a member of the famous Cissokho family of Griot musicians from Southern Senegal. Virtuoso Kora player, singer songwriter, drummer and percussionist with a superb repertoire of rhythms, Modou plays a variety of West African instruments, ranging from djembe, sabar, calabash and talking drum to his leading instrument - the 22 stringed Kora (West African harp).

    Modou's djembe rhythms can be heard on the 2006 Blockbuster movie 'Blood Diamond', his beautiful Kora solo's heard in 2008 on the TV cult series 'Skins' and in 2015 his captivating vocals can be heard on soundtrack for the 'Gorongosa park' wildlife documentary for PBS.

    Modou's passion and desire to create new sounds led him to compose his latest album 'Londo' recording and performing with a group of world class musicians incorporating a wonderful collection of styles and sounds, from Afro Manding, Cuba and Funk to the heartwarming sounds of the Kora. Blending together an irresistible mix of captivating vocals, mesmerising Kora solos, groovy rhythms and soulful melodies, Modou unites tradition and modern sounds that will leave you invigorated and inspired!
