• Sunday 9th June
  • BathTub Orchestra

with special guests Bristol Mandolin and Guitar Ensemble

Bath’s newest Community Orchestra was founded in October 2018, and is an informal mixed ability orchestra that plays all kinds of music from pop songs, jazz, blues, film and soundtracks to classical favourites. The orchestra is open to all kinds of instruments and welcomes new players, with rehearsals taking place every week in the centre of Bath. Under the direction of composer-pianist Edward Bettella, the BathTub Orchestra has big plans for 2019 with recordings and gigs planned throughout the year.

The Bristol Mandolin and Guitar Ensemble is an enthusiastic amateur plucked string orchestra committed to quality and joy in our music making. We play a very varied repertoire including 20th cent. composers such as Bela Bartok, Eric Satie and Gustav Holst, along with both standard (i.e. tango, french chanson) and not so standard (Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Middle Eastern music) mandolin orchestra pieces as well as film music by Ennio Morricone and other composers.
